Spanish Black Belt launches Spanish grammar and Spanish literature workshops in New York City and Brooklyn

New York, NY, June 20, 2009 —The Spanish language tutoring company Spanish Black Belt initiated its newest venture this week in the New York City area, adding Spanish grammar and Spanish literature workshops to their already well-recognized offering of Spanish language learning solutions. Workshops officially kicked off June 17, 2009, in both Manhattan and Brooklyn.

“I am very excited about these Spanish workshops because they offer Spanish learners with a cheaper and more focused alternative,” said School Director Canales, noting that a two-hour Spanish workshop costs as little as $19. “The need to learn Spanish in the New York City area and Brooklyn has never been this high...and these workshops offer Spanish students with an affordable way to meet this need in times of financial hardship.”

Grammar workshops allow students of the Spanish Black Belt program learn very specific set of skills that enable them to talk in Spanish more properly and with much more fluency. They learn grammar and structures through interactive activities and exercises that allow them to understand how to use them in a natural way. Spanish literature workshops, on the other hand, help participants improve their vocabulary, reading comprehension and more. "Each week we'll pick a short story written by a famous Spanish writer. We'll have a lively discussion, exchange ideas and gain some cultural insights," said Mrs. Neyra, coordinator for the Spanish workshops initiative.

According to Canales, Spanish Black Belt’s timing as far as offering their line of Spanish workshops could not have been better. “The Latino population has grown 37 percent between 1990 and 2000, and more professionals and companies are very interested in learning the language so that they are able to target the Hispanic segment,” he said.
