Spanish
Black Belt to Provide Tailored Institutional Programs.
Businesses, diplomatic and nonprofit organizations
to benefit from customized curricula
July
20, 2005, Washington, DC —Spanish Black Belt,
the area’s leading one-on-one Spanish tutoring
institute, is expanding operations to include private
businesses, governments, and nonprofit organizations.
Nicolas Canales, Spanish Black Belt founder and
director of student services, will oversee the program,
which will provide customized Spanish tutoring sessions
to maximize employee communication skills.
With
the number of Spanish speakers growing faster than
any other minority group, it is important for businesses
that wish to be competitive to have access to Hispanic
markets. “Having an edge in business today
is vital and being bilingual can give you that advantage,”
says Jorge Orozco-Cordero, Marketing Director of
NCLR, in Washington. “Spanish Black Belt put
me on the road to being bilingual.”
In
the words of Chris Kilmer, a former staffer at a
renowned Washington think tank and producer of a
PBS public affairs show, “We are at a point
in this city where you really need a strong grasp
of the Spanish language in order to take your career
further.”
Spanish
Black Belt’s institutional programs are available
to organizations with offices in the Washington,
Baltimore and Richmond metropolitan areas. “We
will work directly with the company’s Human
Resources and PR departments to ensure high quality
and relevant lessons for the members of their team,”
said Canales, adding that “class size and
structure will vary depending on the organization’s
needs.”
Among
those already enrolled in the program is the Immigration
Department of the Australian Embassy in Washington,
DC. Spanish Black Belt tutor Ana Trisan has developed
material for the class, which will be conducted
by Constantino Diaz-Duran starting in late July.
Other clients include construction and real estate
companies, as well as healthcare facilities and
political organizations.
In
addition to those fields, Spanish Black Belt is
also producing materials for financial institutions,
law enforcement agencies, the hospitality industry,
and religious organizations.
